Chest High, Slightly Choppy: Kitesurfing on lake nicaragua

The wind picked up through the morning yesterday so much so that come the afternoon we decided to go kitesurfing at San Jorge, just outside of Rivas.  Actually, it was my wife's idea.  I still had a stiff neck from the previous day's surfing - but I think she was itching to get out of the house for the afternoon.

Shockingly, a full two years had passed since my kite's last saw the light of day - but to their credit, they were still in A1 condition upon unfurling them from their bags.  I guess that's partly due to the fact that they have only ever been used in fresh water.

Upon arriving at San Jorge my heart almost stopped when I saw THREE other kites in the air.  I had not anticipated for a second that I may find other people kiting.  The wind conditions were perfect, and the beach wide, unobstructed and clean - so I guess it makes sense. San Jorge is a PERFECT place for kitesurfing!  This is the website of Jamison, who's running a kitesurf school from San Juan del Sur... He's got great equipment, and has some really good value packages on offer.
