Colorado and Panga Drops (we are here!)
These two breaks located within the Hacienda Iguana resort. Panga Drops is a beach break located on the Southern edge of the resort. Colorado is a reef located approximately 500 meters to the North.

Popoyo (20 minute drive to the North)
The outer reef at Popoyo generally doesn't break outside of the surf season which runs from March to September. During the surf season the outer reef works about 4 or 5 days a month. May and June are generally best. The inner reef works year round with smaller swell conditions, although directly after the rainy season it can become unsurfable for a few months if excessive river outflow has changed its shape too much. This clears by December, by which stage there's hardly any swell anyway.

Playa Maderas (the local break to San Juan del Sur - gets crowded!)
This is the local break to San Juan del Sur. I say local in the loosest sense, as its a pretty hard 40 minute drive. Maderas is a great break and is a nice beach, but it gets crowded.

Manzanillo (short boat ride from nearby Gigante)
Great wave, offshore reef. Only access is via a short boat ride from nearby Gigante. Whether you chose to walk along the beach or drive, the village of Gigante is located 20 minutes South of our house.
